Our Diagnostic Imaging department provides MRI, CT and ultrasound scanning, interpreted by specialist radiologists and coordinated directly with your referring department.
Clinical scope
Diagnostic Imaging & Radiology supports every clinical department at NordicCare Helsehus, from confirming a suspected fracture to guiding a cardiology or general medicine investigation. Scans are reviewed by specialist radiologists, with reports shared directly with your treating physician.
We use modern imaging equipment appropriate to each clinical question, choosing the modality, whether ultrasound, MRI or CT, that will give the clearest answer with the least burden to you as a patient.

Your First Visit
What to expect
On arrival, our radiographers will explain the scan you are having and answer any questions about the procedure. Most scans are completed within the appointment slot booked, and your images are reviewed by a specialist radiologist, with a written report sent to your referring physician, typically followed by a discussion of results at your next consultation.
Before You Arrive
Patient preparation
- Follow any fasting or hydration instructions provided when your scan was booked.
- Inform reception of any metal implants, a pacemaker, or possible pregnancy before an MRI or CT scan.
- Wear clothing without metal fastenings where possible, or be prepared to change into a gown.
- Bring your referral details and any previous imaging for comparison.
